Overlay is a protocol that enables trading of virtually any data stream, be it long or short, with leverage, using price oracles and a native token. Users can take long or short positions with leverage on the value of the data stream by locking up the native ERC 20 token, OVL, in the stream's market contract. The ultimate goal of Overlay is to create a self-sustaining protocol that provides all participants (traders, liquidity providers, and governance participants) with an incentive to grow with Overlay. If successful, DeFi users will be able to turn any manipulation-resistant data stream into a financial instrument.
