🇺🇸🇮🇷 FLASH: Trump announces 5-day pause on strikes against Iranian energy facilities, says "US-Iran held productive dialogue"

Trump just posted on Truth Social that the United States and Iran have held "very good and productive dialogue" over the past two days, and has instructed the Department of Defense to suspend all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for 5 days — contingent on the ongoing talks being successful.

Trump previously demanded that Iran open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, or face "destruction" of its power plants. Now that the deadline has just passed, he has suddenly released a conciliatory signal.

However, Iran quickly denied it: no direct communication or communication through intermediaries with the United States.

Meanwhile, Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan are in the middle relaying messages, attempting to mediate between the US and Iran. But Iran's Armed Forces previously issued a clear warning: if power plants are attacked, they will completely close the Strait of Hormuz.

Market reaction: Following Trump's statement, international oil prices plummeted by more than 14% at one point, with Brent crude falling below $96.

The 5-day window — is it heading toward easing or the calm before the storm?
