Gate News message, April 28 — Google is testing an AI-powered experimental feature called “Ask YouTube” that enables users to search through video content using natural language queries. The feature is currently available only to users aged 18 and older in the United States with YouTube Premium subscriptions.
Users can click the “Ask YouTube” button in the search bar to ask questions in natural language, such as requesting video summaries or a brief history of a topic. The system generates a text explanation and key points list, automatically compiling relevant content from long-form videos and Shorts, organized by topic modules.
The feature remains in experimental testing and has not yet been rolled out to all users.
