India Considers Extending Petrochemical Import Tax Waiver Beyond June 30

According to India's Deputy Commerce Secretary Ravi Teja, the country is considering extending a tax exemption on 40 petrochemical products imported for plastic and pharmaceutical manufacturing beyond the June 30 deadline. The original policy, announced in April, was implemented to address medicine and raw material shortages triggered by the Iran conflict. Teja stated that the Commerce Ministry is closely monitoring developments and will make a final decision after assessing the current geopolitical situation.
