Indian ATMs in Tier-2 and Tier-3 Cities Face Cash Shortage; Supply Falls Short by 3.3 Trillion Rupees in April

According to Indian media on June 8, automatic teller machines in India's second and third-tier cities have faced cash shortages, with citizens struggling to withdraw funds. The Indian ATM Industry Association attributed the shortage to major banks prioritizing cash allocation to large cities. Data showed that national ATM cash demand reached 940 billion rupees in both March and April, while actual supply was 610 billion rupees in March and 540 billion rupees in April.
