Zcash Completes Ironwood Upgrade, Planned Activation in July

According to BlockBeats, Zcash developers completed Ironwood upgrade consensus rule changes on June 9, with activation planned for July. The upgrade introduces a flag mechanism between old and new Orchard transaction pools, restricting the legacy pool from receiving new deposits while allowing change generation. After activation, wallets will route new transactions to the new pool. The design incorporates an existing turnstile mechanism to ensure ZEC circulating supply cannot be infinitely minted.
