ChainCatcher news. According to official sources, Coinbase announced the official launch of self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs) support in Australia, providing Australian trustees with compliant and secure digital asset investment solutions, helping diversify retirement investment portfolios.

This service is based on the Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) Coinbase recently obtained and local expertise. According to data from the Australian Taxation Office, there are currently more than 653,000 SMSFs in Australia managing AUD 1.05 trillion in assets, with more than 1.2 million members. Because SMSFs allow individuals to directly manage digital assets, they have become one of the few retirement structures worldwide that offer this level of flexibility.

Coinbase’s SMSF solution offers a streamlined real-world verification process, audit reports that comply with local accounting standards, and institutional-grade security protections, helping Australian investors incorporate cryptocurrencies into long-term retirement strategies.
