Six Core Speaking Formulas
1. Speak by complimenting others
People with high awareness like to praise others, making people feel refreshed; those with low awareness like to put others down. Learn to praise and say what the other person wants to hear, and you can win over 90% of people.
2. Focus only on what is said
Don’t get caught up in the tone and manner of the other person’s speech; this is an emotional reaction. “A gentleman judges by actions, not by intentions.” What the other person says and does is what matters most.
3. Always speak slowly
Think carefully in your mind before speaking. Speaking slowly gives people a sense of presence, authority, and organization; speaking quickly makes you seem unstable and may even cause trouble with your words.
4. Speak a little softer
There’s no need to shout at the top of your lungs. Speaking softly makes it easier for others to listen and won’t cause resentment.
5. Never be too direct
Don’t always try to correct others. As long as they don’t touch your “cake,” just let them “have fun.” When they’re happy, they’ll like you, and you can get them to “pay the bill.”
6. Learn to keep your words simple
“The greatest truth is simple,” truly wise people can express their ideas with the simplest words. Those who fill their speech with jargon are often just trying to appear smart without truly understanding.
