U.S. District Judge Margaret Garnett of the Southern District of New York has cleared legal obstacles for Aave to transfer $71 million worth of ETH related to North Korea-linked hacking incidents, allowing the attack funds frozen on Arbitrum to be moved to Aave LLC, though the relevant court order restricting those funds will be transferred along with the assets. Previously, plaintiffs holding judgments against North Korea tried to limit these funds, arguing they could be used to enforce damages-related judgments tied to North Korea. Aave, meanwhile, argued that the frozen assets belong to users of the Aave protocol and do not belong to the attackers or North Korea-related entities. (CoinDesk)
