On May 9th, the Yibin City Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Sichuan Province issued a notice regarding the online rumors about local personnel involved with the “Hondius” cruise ship.

Recently, rumors have appeared online suggesting that personnel from Yibin City are connected to an overseas cruise ship-related outbreak. After verification, the relevant information is as follows:

Yibin resident Chen was disembarked on March 31st, while the first case on the cruise ship boarded on April 1st; there was no overlap in time or space. Chen has been off the ship for 39 days and has no related symptoms. The Yibin Center for Disease Control and Prevention tested samples from Chen and his family members, and all hantavirus nucleic acid test results were negative.

Expert analysis indicates that Chen has no infection risk and no community transmission risk.
