Just went down a rabbit hole reading about John McAfee's wife Janice Dyson and honestly their story is wild. Like, this guy created McAfee antivirus, sold it to Intel for 7.7 billion, but then basically spent the rest of his life running from authorities. Met Janice in Miami Beach around 2012 when she was working as a prostitute, married her the next year despite being like 36 years older. They literally spent years on the run together - evading tax charges, fleeing to Guatemala, the whole dramatic escape thing.
What really gets me is what happened after. McAfee got arrested in Barcelona in 2020, died in his cell in June 2021, and officials called it suicide. But Janice Dyson has been fighting this hard ever since. She doesn't believe it for a second and has been pushing for independent autopsies, speaking out constantly about how he was actually in good spirits before he died. She even keeps his Twitter account active sharing her doubts.
There's this whole conspiracy angle too - people comparing it to Epstein, talking about cryptographic keys hidden in images, the works. Whether you believe any of it or not, Janice Dyson's determination to challenge the official story is pretty intense. She's basically become the keeper of his legacy now, managing his memory and fighting what she sees as injustices. Definitely one of those stories that makes you question everything you think you know about what really happened.
