Sun Dongming departs to visit Sweden and Finland to strengthen cooperation in innovative technology and other areas
The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Sun Tung-ming, will depart tomorrow (the 10th) for a visit to Sweden and Finland to strengthen Hong Kong’s connections and cooperation with the two countries in areas such as innovation and technology, and to study local experience in the integration of industry, academia and research.
During the visit, Sun Tung-ming will tour local universities and higher education institutions, research organisations and innovation and technology facilities, and will meet with relevant government policy officials, representatives of innovation and technology organisations, and representatives of technology companies.
Sun Tung-ming will return to Hong Kong on the afternoon of May 15. During his absence, the Deputy Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Cheung Man-lai, will act as Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry.
In addition, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Chan Kwok-ki, will depart for Jiangxi tomorrow morning before the trip, to attend the opening ceremony of the exchange activity series titled “Inheriting the Long March Spirit and Continuing the Red Bloodline”—a series of exchange activities for youth from Hong Kong and Macau to retrace the Long March route, to be held in Ruijin City on May 11.
Chan Kwok-ki will return to Hong Kong on the afternoon of May 11. During his absence, the Deputy Secretary for the Civil Service, Zhuo Wing-hing, will act as the Secretary for the Civil Service.
