just realized most people have no clue how to actually picture 4 inches lol. like you hear the number and your brain just blanks out. so i did a quick comparison thing and honestly it makes way more sense when you attach it to real stuff. basically 4 inches is about the width of your palm or a credit card plus a tiny bit more. in cm that's 10.16 if you're into metric. the easiest way to see this 4-inch length is just look at your hand - from wrist to fingertip on a closed fist, that's roughly it. or grab a tv remote, the button section is usually around that size. people always think it sounds longer than it actually is until they see it in person then they're like oh that's it? a dollar bill is like 6.14 inches so 4 inches is just a bit over half of that. on a ruler it's super easy, just count from 0 to 4 and boom there's your measurement. takes up about a third of a standard foot-long ruler. honestly this matters more than you'd think when you're buying stuff online or checking product sizes. the 4-inch length pops up everywhere - phone widths, small tools, screen sizes - but we never really stop to visualize what it actually looks like. once you get the comparison thing down it's way easier to remember
