just realized the next acfb payment is literally in like 2 weeks (may 27) if you're in alberta and haven't checked your account yet. honestly didn't know they do quarterly payments like this - feb, may, aug, nov. pretty straightforward once you dig into it



so basically if you've got kids under 18 and you filed your taxes, you're automatically in for the acfb. no application needed apparently. the amount depends on your family income from last year - there's a base component that doesn't require you to be working, plus a working component if you're earning above like $2,760. the base goes up to like $1,499 for the first kid, then $749 for each additional one

the whole thing is indexed to inflation too so it adjusts yearly. and it's tax-free money, doesn't affect your ccb or anything. if your payment doesn't show up by like june 1st you can check your cra account or call them. honestly seems like one of those benefits people don't always realize they're getting
