Crypto World News reports that Russian President Putin stated that Moscow previously warned that if Ukraine launched an attack on its annual Victory Day celebrations, Russia would retaliate. This warning led to both sides reaching a three-day ceasefire agreement. Putin said at a press conference in Moscow that Russian officials had informed the U.S. that if Ukraine attacked during the Russian military parade, the U.S. would need to take security measures for its diplomats in Kyiv. Putin stated that the ceasefire and prisoner exchange proposals put forward by President Trump stemmed from discussions about embassy security. After days of escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine, Russia's military parade was held peacefully last Saturday. Trump unexpectedly announced a ceasefire last Friday evening, stating that the ceasefire would last from May 9 to 11, and both Russia and Ukraine agreed to exchange 1,000 prisoners of war each.
