U.S. stock market close: Nasdaq and S&P 500 reach new highs; multiple storage chip stocks surge and hit new highs

The three major U.S. stock indices all closed higher: the Nasdaq rose 1.71%, gaining 4.51% for the week; the S&P 500 rose 0.84%, up 2.33% for the week; the Dow Jones rose 0.02%, up 0.22% for the week; and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index jumped by more than 5.51%, up 11.14% for the week. Among them, the Nasdaq and S&P 500 have risen for the sixth consecutive week—its longest winning streak since October 2024—and also hit fresh highs again. Storage chip stocks led the move, with SanDisk up more than 16%, Micron Technology up more than 15%, Intel up nearly 14%, and Seagate Technology up more than 2%, with all of them reaching new highs.
