ME News Report, May 10 (UTC+8), Tesla, by analyzing real fleet collision data and combining visual systems with sensors, has achieved a breakthrough in safety systems. Traditional collision sensors require time to confirm, and lowering thresholds may lead to false triggers. Meanwhile, visual systems can “see” impending collisions in advance, working together with sensors to enable the restraint controller to activate airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners earlier and more accurately. By simulating collision replay and measuring the forces on human models, the team found that early deployment can optimize protection timing. This improvement significantly reduces the predicted severity of injuries overall and is implemented via OTA updates, representing an unprecedented safety enhancement. (Source: AiHot)
