On May 13th local time, the Chinese and U.S. economic and trade leaders, Vice Premier He Lifeng of the State Council, and the U.S. lead negotiator, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, held economic and trade consultations in South Korea.

Guided by the important consensus between the two heads of state, and adhering to the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, both sides engaged in frank, in-depth, and constructive exchanges on economic and trade issues of mutual concern and further expansion of practical cooperation.
1. "In-depth" means discussing sensitive issues, with each side expressing their own views, and no one convincing the other;
2. "Frank" means everyone argued fiercely, constantly debating, and arguing enthusiastically;
3. "Constructive" means both sides exchanged views, and further exchanges are planned, indicating that this discussion did not achieve substantive progress, and there will be opportunities to continue the talks next time.
In summary, each side holds their own opinions, and the matter will be discussed again later.
