Blockchain analytics platform “Onchain Lens” data revealed that an anonymous investor in the cryptocurrency market opened a large buy position on Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) through the decentralized trading platform Hyperliquid, in a deal estimated at roughly $80 million in total value.
According to the data, which traces back to an address starting with 0x049, the investor holds 493.43 bitcoins with an average entry price of $81,065.5 per coin, with the liquidation level set at $78,009—meaning a margin of no more than 3.8% from the purchase price.
As for the Ethereum position, it includes 17,410 units with an average entry price of $2,296.7, while the liquidation price was set at $2,227.81, reflecting a narrow margin of approximately 3%.
These limited liquidation levels point to the use of high leverage—an approach employed by major traders to maximize potential profits—but in return it significantly increases the risk even if price fluctuations remain moderate.
Onchain Lens reported that this same address previously generated profits exceeding $7.7 million from similar trading activities, strengthening the belief that the person behind the trade has extensive experience in cryptocurrency markets, although past performance is not a guarantee of future results.
This move coincided with U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to China, accompanied by a number of the leading businessmen and billionaires, including Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, Tim Cook, and Larry Fink.
The deal has sparked widespread questions about the identity of this anonymous investor, and whether they are betting on an imminent rebound in the cryptocurrency market—especially after the recent pullbacks seen in both Bitcoin and Ethereum, as investors await market moves in the coming hours.
