After finishing my busy night, I went to watch "Love Letter to Grandma"

As a Chaoshan person, I was truly touched after watching it, tears kept flowing uncontrollably 🥹
When my grandma was still alive, she told me many stories about overseas Chinese relatives
Many families here in Chaoshan had relatives who went to Nanyang in the past, to Siam (now Thailand) and Malaysia
Including my ancestors who had relatives who, to escape war and famine, were forced to set sail and leave their homeland
The storylines in the movie are very realistic, like Chaoshan people in foreign countries often being bullied, beaten, and robbed
But we Chaoshan people are very united, sticking together, helping each other in times of need, full of loyalty and righteousness
What resonated with me the most in the entire film was the grandma’s ending words: "To be a good person, you must have kindness and loyalty; benefactors will naturally come to support you."
