Last night, I checked the on-chain data again and it “lagged” a bit. I thought my internet had gone down, but it turned out the indexer/Subgraph couldn’t keep up: the on-chain stuff clearly had already produced new blocks, but the layer of data you’re looking at has to be picked up by someone, fetched, parsed, and stored—so if you’re even a little behind, it feels like “nothing happened.” On top of that, with RPC rate limiting, tapping a couple of times gets you a 429, and when the page goes blank, my mindset instantly goes right back to that day when I got trapped… I even refreshed more than a dozen times, which is basically me helping myself trigger the rate limit faster.

Later, I thought about it: if I really don’t understand something, I’ll just not move. That time, I almost went after a “airdrop query” link and clicked to sign—just recently there have been more phishing attempts, and my hardware wallet is also out of stock, so one hot-headed moment makes it easy to end up making a mistake. Anyway, I’d rather wait a few more minutes, switch routes, or change nodes than bet on that one question of whether I missed something. That’s it for now—after I review it all, I forgive myself.
