Masayoshi Son Responds to SoftBank’s Proposed Equity Investment in Tokyo Electric Power: If It Succeeds, It Will Build AI Data Centers

On June 24, during the shareholders’ meeting, Masayoshi Son, Chairman of SoftBank Group, talked about his subsidiary SoftBank’s plan to invest and take an equity stake in Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO). He said, “Among several companies, we currently remain as an important candidate.” Son also noted that if the investment goes ahead, “(SoftBank) should build AI data centers in Japan.” (Jiemian)
