#My Gate Trading Moments

In the countless rounds of buying and selling, there is always one trade that completely reshapes an individual's investment logic. It may not be the most profitable trade, nor the one with the worst loss, but it can bring sudden clarity and help you find a trading rhythm that suits you. I have been involved in BTC spot and event prediction trading on the Gate platform for a long time. Recently, the geopolitical conflict in the Middle East has continued to escalate. Trump publicly warned Iran that if the Lebanese armed forces continue to provoke conflicts, the U.S. strike force will be far stronger than last week. The risk in the Strait of Hormuz is rapidly heating up. Currently, BTC is quoted at $64,513, with a slight increase of only 0.42% in 24 hours, and the market has remained in a state of sideways consolidation and wait-and-see.
Looking back at my trading records, I once followed the trend of popular Meme coins. Seeing a short-term continuous surge, I blindly entered with heavy positions. After making some luckily profits in the early stage, my mentality expanded rapidly, and I kept adding positions and expanding my holdings, completely ignoring the project fundamentals and market risks. Eventually, the market quickly pulled back, not only wiping out all profits but also causing a significant drawdown in my principal. This trade served as a wake-up call. Afterwards, I adjusted my trading system: for spot trading, strictly build positions in batches, with a single position never exceeding 15% of total assets; for futures, avoid frequent opening orders, and set stop-loss and take-profit levels in advance.
Recently, the World Cup matches have seen a series of upsets: Cape Verde drew with Uruguay, Iran drew with Belgium. The prediction market has seen a surge in high-odds results. Many traders around me were eager to enter the market to seek short-term gains. Based on my past experience of stepping into traps, I have remained rational. Match outcomes are highly random, and I won't blindly bet on high-odds options just because there have been many upsets in the past. At the same time, there have been frequent on-chain theft incidents recently, with Taiko's treasury and Ethereum's top arbitrage bots successively attacked by hackers, causing cumulative losses of millions of dollars. When interacting with contracts daily, I repeatedly verify the contract addresses to avoid the risk of asset theft.
Recording my trading experiences in Gate Square is essentially a process of reflection after each trade. There are no ever-accurate market judgments, only continuously improving trading systems. Here, I also want to give some advice to newcomers entering the crypto market: The market never lacks trading opportunities. Only by preserving your principal can you survive long-term. Abandon the speculative mentality of getting rich overnight and establish your own trading rules—that is the core foundation for long-term profitability.
