Franklin Templeton Completes Acquisition of 250 Digital, Officially Establishes Franklin Crypto Crypto Asset Management Division

Franklin Templeton (Franklin Templeton) announced the completion of its acquisition of crypto investment management firm 250 Digital. The transaction includes the 250 Digital investment team and all liquid crypto strategies previously operated by CoinFund, and Franklin Templeton will inject capital into these strategies.

With the transaction completed, Franklin Templeton has officially established its dedicated crypto asset management division, Franklin Crypto. It is led by Christopher Perkins, co-founder of 250 Digital, as Managing Director, with Seth Ginns as Chief Investment Officer. Together, they will be managed jointly with Tony Pecore from Franklin Templeton’s digital assets team, and will report to Sandy Kaul, head of the company’s innovative business.

Franklin Crypto will provide actively managed crypto strategies for institutional investors.

Franklin Templeton previously announced in April 2026 that it would acquire 250 Digital, a spinoff company from the venture capital firm CoinFund, to expand its cryptocurrency investment business.

After the acquisition transaction is completed, Franklin Templeton will launch a crypto division focused on serving pension funds and sovereign wealth funds and name it “Franklin Crypto.”
