Morocco's defense—conceded only 1 goal in three matches, more solid than Brazil.

Morocco conceded only 1 goal in three group stage matches, making them one of the best defensive teams among the 32 teams. In the first match, they held Brazil to a 1-1 draw, only breached once by Vinícius Jr.'s individual brilliance; in the second match, they kept a clean sheet with a 2-0 win over Scotland; in the final group match, they kept a clean sheet with a 1-0 win over Haiti.

Morocco's defensive system is very mature. In the five-back formation, the two wing-backs, Achraf and Mazraoui, drop back very deep, almost forming a seven-man defensive line. The double pivot of Amrabat and Onana cover huge areas, effectively cutting off the opponent's midfield passing lanes forward.

Achraf is the core of Morocco. His defensive ability is severely underestimated—although known for his attacking prowess, Achraf's one-on-one defensive success rate is as high as 78.3%, ranking fourth among all full-backs in the 32 teams. Facing the Dutch left-wing attack (Gakpo or Malen), Achraf's defense will determine whether Morocco's right flank can be breached.

Morocco's defensive goal is clear: let the Dutch keep possession in the frontcourt, but never let them get comfortable shooting opportunities inside the box. If Morocco can drag the match into extra time, their defensive confidence will be even stronger.
