Shenchao TechFlow news, July 4 — According to Decrypt, New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has once again called for a ban on politicians and their spouses from issuing or promoting cryptocurrency assets, including meme coins. This move follows Trump's disclosure this week that he earned over $1.2 billion from cryptocurrency activities last year, with Solana-based meme coins contributing over $635 million.

Gillibrand stated that public officials and their spouses should not issue meme coins, as this is a common-sense requirement to prevent conflicts of interest. She is also pushing to restrict lawmakers' activities in prediction markets and stock trading, with related ethical provisions becoming a key point of contention in the advancement of the Clarity Act.
