Actually, it's not that your cognition is low, your execution is poor, your willpower is insufficient, or you earn little money—it's that your body has already collapsed first!
Why does Brother Cat say this?
Because many people nowadays misunderstand one thing and have been brainwashed by certain viewpoints.
They think: if I earn little money, it must be because my cognition is insufficient.
Is my professional skill lacking?
If my execution is poor, is it because my willpower is insufficient?
If I'm anxious, is it because my mindset is bad?
Actually, it's not like that! In fact, many times,
your body, more than your cognition, plays a key role in determining your life.
Many successful people have a good body, while their competitors may not be inferior in various aspects, but their bodies might give out first.
For example,
Ray Kroc vs. the McDonald brothers.
The McDonald brothers withdrew from the competition in 1961 due to health issues, selling this business empire for $2.7 million—quite a pity.
Another example familiar to Chinese people: Sima Yi vs. Zhuge Liang.
Sima Yi simply outlived Zhuge Liang and other competitors through his physical endurance, and eventually, his descendants became emperors.
Because in his later years, Zhuge Liang suffered serious problems due to stress.
Another example: lack of sleep.
The activity of the prefrontal cortex decreases.
For instance, a person's judgment, emotional control,
and long-term planning abilities all noticeably deteriorate.
So you start:
getting angry more easily, procrastinating more,
becoming more impatient,
and liking to scroll through short videos more.
Then you might start to doubt:
Am I a failure?
Actually, it's not that—it might just be:
you stayed up late again yesterday.
There are also many people who study hard, buy courses,
follow cognition bloggers, study economics, study trends,
study business, study Web3 projects,
yet they can't even control how many hours they sleep each day.
It's like: the car's engine has already broken down, has problems,
but you keep thinking about controlling the steering wheel to change direction.
Perhaps those who make money long-term and ultimately become winners:
they share one common trait.
They value their bodies greatly, staying in excellent shape.
I remember a joke about a person in an industry who was just average in competitive level, but still became the big winner and the leader of the industry. Why? Because all his competitors kicked the bucket—died from overwork, became too ill to continue, etc.
So Brother Cat believes that sleeping, eating, exercising, sunbathing, etc.—
these things seem ordinary, nothing special, but in reality,
the body is the underlying system for all decisions!
Maybe someone will argue with Brother Cat,
saying these are too simple.
The real problems must be more complex than this.
Actually, it's the opposite. The methods that truly change your life
are often boring and simple.
For example, getting good sleep, eating less junk food,
walking for half an hour every day, or sticking to running or some sport.
If you haven't done it, try it for a month consistently,
and maybe you'll find that many problems that once troubled you,
things you thought were unsolvable,
don't seem so serious or scary to you anymore—maybe they aren't even problems at all.
So, Brother Cat thinks,
don't always feel that your cognition is lacking, this is lacking, that is lacking.
Instead, first ask yourself:
How many hours did you sleep last night? Have you been exercising regularly recently?
