The short-side rhythm today has been cleaner than expected. When $VVV repeatedly tested the high but couldn’t break through, I knew something was off. On the surface, it looked like it was still ranging, but in reality, the funds had already started to press downward.

After I entered the short near 15.620, I didn’t rush to check the outcome. My focus was on whether the bounce could be reclaimed. The result was obvious: each push up was weaker than the last, until the price slid to 10.979, with profit +1430.24%. The move extended clearly, and the short thesis was validated by the price action.

At times like this, don’t take profits for granted. What futures trading tests the most is realizing gains and protecting them. My approach is 80/20: first close out the bulk to lock in the profits, then let the remaining position continue to follow the down-move rhythm. I place the protection level above a reasonable pullback to prevent a sudden snap-back.

If you didn’t get on, don’t chase the short emotionally at the low. Opportunities aren’t only once—wait for a more comfortable entry point.
