Does Heaven’s way really reward diligence?

“Heaven’s way rewards diligence” comes from 〖Shangshu · Da Gao〗
“Diligence” here more means “frequently.” The whole line is about the Zhou king paying thanks to Heaven for “frequently protecting the people and their undertakings” (similar to an emperor’s self-effacing remarks or blessing phrases).
As the saying goes: Heaven and Earth are not benevolent; they treat all things like straw dogs.
Heaven’s way has never talked about fairness. It only follows the jungle rule—survival of the fittest.
So, how exactly can one get rich? 🤔
