2026-07-21 US market trading recap
First trade (4057 short)
Pros: Followed the down-chop trend; after breaking below the early-session support, went short; the 4060 resistance level assessment was reasonable; the FVG take-profit logic was correct.
Cons:
• The original plan was to enter at 4060, but the actual entry was shorting at 4057, which involved FOMO.
• When floating profit was about $12, the stop loss wasn’t moved to protect gains; the trade ultimately turned from profit into loss.
• The market was ranging for nearly two hours without making a new low—stay more cautious and consider protecting the position.
Second trade (4065 long)
Pros: Identified that the short-side structure was broken; went long using a Fibonacci retracement; stop loss at 4055 and take profit at 4075 matched the system.
Cons: The stop-out from the previous trade caused fear; the take profit was moved early from 4075 to 4070, missing the full profit.
Daily summary
1. Don’t chase trades unless price reaches the planned levels.
2. After floating profit hits 1R, consider moving the stop loss or moving to breakeven based on the structure to avoid turning profits into losses.
3. Each trade is independent—don’t let the previous trade affect the next one.
