7.27 Gold Morning Brief: The rebound lacks fundamental support; gold hits upper-rail pressure—set up for shorts

Market recap: In the morning, gold prices surged to 4096.76. The current quote is 4093.42, up slightly by nearly 40 points. This rise is a technical rebound after the previous sharp drop. Overall, the larger downtrend over the week has not reversed. The rebound has reached the vicinity of the Bollinger upper rail; upward momentum is gradually slowing, and upside resistance is becoming increasingly apparent.

Technical analysis: On the one-hour timeframe, gold surged to test the Bollinger upper rail and the 4089 pressure zone. In the short term, the 5- and 10-day moving averages have formed support, but the Bollinger channel as a whole remains downward. The KDJ indicator is trending upward toward the overbought region; bullish strength is close to exhaustion and may soon turn lower to form a dead cross and pull back. The key upside resistance zone is 4094-4097. The first support below is 4064, and the key support is 4047.

Trading suggestion: Sell the rebound in batches in the 4095-4110 pressure range. For short-term targets, look toward 4075; if it breaks down, watch for 4050$XAUT

This rebound has limited strength; the Bollinger Bands are still trending downward, and the KDJ has quickly entered overbought territory. Wait to short around 4095, set a stop loss, and look for 4050.

The short positions at the resistance level are indeed stable; today, first look at 4075.
