CITIC Construction Investment: AI Computing Power and Commercial Space Industry Enter Acceleration Phase

On May 9, CITIC Construction Investment’s research report pointed out that AI computing power and the commercial space industry are entering an acceleration phase. On the computing power side, the evolution of applications is profoundly restructuring infrastructure: Agents are driving a shift in computing load from GPU-intensive to CPU-intensive, with the ratio of CPUs to GPUs in data centers expected to significantly increase; the explosive demand for AI computing power, combined with rising memory prices and tight production capacity, is driving the shortage and price increase of server CPUs this year; the demand for cost reduction in large model inference is prompting major players to accelerate the layout of ASICs, leading the industry towards a heterogeneous collaboration of GPU and ASIC. On the aerospace side, taking the 2026 Aerospace Day as an opportunity, with various reusable rockets undergoing intensive validation, the increase in transportation capacity will comprehensively accelerate the networking of satellite internet, pushing the commercial space industry into a phase of high-quality development.
