Abstract generation in progress
Golden Finance reports that on May 22, Polymarket Vice President of Engineering Josh Stevens stated that, with the assistance of ZachXBT, BitcoinVN, and ChangeNOW, $164k of stolen funds from the Polymarket private key leak incident have been frozen, accounting for approximately 28.6% of the total transferred amount of $572,000. This incident did not affect Polymarket or UMA smart contracts, and user funds remain secure with platform operations functioning normally. The investigation shows that the incident originated from a private key that has existed for about six years being leaked; this private key was used for internal recharge configurations, leading to funds continuously being sent to the affected address. The relevant team is currently continuing to track the remaining stolen funds.
