Golden Finance reports that on May 23, at around 18:30 on the 22nd Eastern Time (around 6:30 a.m. Beijing Time on the 23rd), SpaceX’s next-generation heavy-lift rocket “Starship” launched from Texas and carried out its 12th test flight. This test flight enabled the new-generation “Starship” spacecraft and the “Super Heavy” booster, equipped with an upgraded version of the “Raptor” engines, and for the first time used a redesigned launch pad. The main goal of the test flight is to verify the performance of these new systems and new components in an actual flight environment. As planned, the first-stage “Super Heavy” booster will make a controlled splashdown in waters near the Gulf of Mexico and will not return to the launch site for recovery. After completing the test flight, the second-stage “Starship” spacecraft will splash down in the Indian Ocean.
