Korea FIU plans to impose a six-month partial suspension on a certain CEX

Gate News Report, March 9 — The Financial Intelligence Unit of South Korea (FIU) has announced a preliminary measure of a “6-month partial suspension” against a certain CEX for suspected violations of the Act on Reporting and Using Specified Financial Transaction Information, engaging in transactions with unreported overseas virtual asset service providers, and inadequate KYC procedures. The restriction mainly affects the withdrawal of virtual assets for new users; existing users’ KRW and crypto deposits, withdrawals, and trading are not affected.
