Gate News, March 15 — Wintermute founder and CEO Evgeny Gaevoy commented on the Ethereum Foundation’s mission statement, saying, “What I see more is criticism rather than celebration, and that’s understandable. After all, most of us in crypto have ‘transformed’ to integrate into the existing global system.”
He further pointed out that the Ethereum Foundation is currently the only player with both resources and network effects, capable of not only maintaining the crypto punk dream but also truly realizing it. Regarding price impact, he believes it won’t be reflected in Ethereum’s price in the short term, but in the long term, it depends on whether the goals are successfully achieved.
Evgeny Gaevoy stated, “At least someone should try to achieve this goal on a macro level, rather than just pursuing financial applications. Holding ETH long-term is a very long-term bet, but compared to other worse ‘faiths,’ it’s still acceptable. So I will continue to hold my ETH for culture and memes.”
