Crypto exchange Gate launched a new prediction market feature in public beta. The company said that it is the first centralized exchange to integrate such a platform. Users can bet Yes or No outcomes on world events. The feature supports sports, crypto, and economic topics with instant execution and settlement of stablecoins.

Gate Adds Event Trading with Yes or No Market System

Gate said the new system allows users to trade based on events that are occurring in the real world. Traders trade with Yes or No shares based on anticipated outcomes. If the prediction turns out to be correct, then the user gets a return after settlement. The platform automatically settles winning positions in stablecoins.

The exchange verified that the feature works inside the Gate mobile app. Users can access the prediction market from the Alpha section. The update requires app version 8.12.5 or newer for it to work correctly. Gate said the goal is to make trading events simple for beginners.

The platform has support for trading via normal exchange accounts. Users are able to make trades using USDT from their spot balance. This eliminates the requirement for blockchain transactions in normal trading. The company said that this makes the process faster and easier.

Users can also use Web3 wallets if they prefer decentralized access. Wallet users can trade according to the Polygon network using USDC. With this option, experienced traders have more flexibility. Gate explained that both systems work in one interface.

Prediction Markets Grow as Exchanges Add New Features

The prediction market has various event categories to trade. These include sporting events, crypto prices, and economic events. Users can view the odds and levels of probability in real-time. Market prices move based on buyers or sellers.

For instance, if a Yes share has a price of 0.65, it has a 65% chance. Traders can hold positions to the completion of the event. They can also sell earlier in case of price movement. This makes prediction markets analogous to the trading of derivatives.

Advanced users have access to charts, order books and price history. The platform offers market orders and limit orders. A quick trade button enables users to place orders instantly. Gate said these tools assist experienced traders in the management of strategies.

The exchange also added spread-style prediction markets for sports events. Traders have the ability to predict score ranges rather than mere results. This allows for more options to trade different outcomes. Gate said the feature increases depth in prediction trading.

All prediction positions are shown within the user’s spot account. Balances, orders and history remain in one place. Once settled, winning trades are converted to stablecoins automatically. Users can claim funds in a click of a button.
