CoinJie News on March 12 reported that U.S. Energy Secretary Wright stated today that he will take full responsibility for the incorrect X post and will personally review future posts to prevent such incidents from happening again. Wright posted a message on X yesterday stating that naval forces had escorted a tanker through the Strait of Hormuz, but subsequently deleted the message, triggering significant fluctuations in the oil market. White House Press Secretary Levitt, when later asked about Wright's post deletion, said that the United States had not escorted any vessels. Wright stated earlier today that the U.S. Navy is currently unable to provide escort services for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, but it is "likely" that such an arrangement could be implemented by the end of this month.
