Sometimes I think banks are pretty messed up.

I remember when I first came to Chongqing, I was really broke. I couldn't even afford to eat a couple of yuan worth of dried tofu snacks.

Back then I tried to get a credit card. I applied to multiple banks and only got approved for one with a 500 yuan limit.

But now that I have a house and car, both fully paid, and money isn't an issue, I've got credit card limits in the hundreds of thousands. I barely use it, but the bank calls me every other day—upgrading my services, increasing my credit limit, offering backup funds.

It's pretty messed up, really. The less money you have, the harder it is to borrow from banks. The more money you have, the more the bank chases you trying to give you money.

Banks want to lend out money, but they won't lend to people who actually need it. They want to lend to people who don't need it. But who's crazy enough to borrow money from a bank when they don't need it?
