JUST IN: BlackRock believes the next big story for the crypto sector will come not from a new wave of tokens, but from its integration with artificial intelligence.
The firm maintains that institutional investors are focusing on Bitcoin and Ether, while viewing cryptocurrencies as an infrastructure component for the digital economy that could emerge around AI agents and data centers.
Robbie Mitchnick, head of digital assets at BlackRock, stated that institutional clients are primarily focused on BTC and ETH.
