Probably about ten years ago.

That summer, I was doing odd jobs near Guanlan Datikeng, and after adding extra hours at night, I headed back on foot.
On the way home, I ran into a girl by the roadside.
She didn’t look very old—more like around 20 years old—wasn’t very tall, and her skin was a bit dark. She spoke very softly to me: “30 yuan each time. My family hasn’t eaten—we only accept cash.”
I took the money out of my pocket, gave her 30, and just walked away. I didn’t look back, and I didn’t say a word.
If I were going to go, it was definitely not something I’d do. That moment really made even a broke guy like me feel that everyone in the world suffers!
