Hey sisters, today I saw MEXC's USD1 Launchpool. At first, I didn't think much of it, just thought it was another old-fashioned staking and mining scheme.
But after looking a little more, I suddenly felt a bit emotional. It's not that I doubt it, but I think this isn't just about mining tokens; it's almost like helping projects set their first price!
This time, the pool is especially aggressive—only using USD1 participation, with a 1.5 million $WLFI prize pool, from 4.3 to 4.10. No platform tokens, just pure stablecoins.
In previous Launchpools, everyone used volatile tokens to bet on platform growth and new coin hype. Projects ended up with a bunch of tokens that could jump around wildly, with their value starting to fluctuate right at the funding moment. But this time, the project directly gets close to real dollars—this step quietly turns Launchpool into a lightweight on-chain financing.
In the past, the initial price was always chaotic because the first funds themselves were volatile, mixing too much emotion and expectation into the pricing. Now, with a stable underlying USD1, there's less emotional influence, and the price is closer to the project's true value. This is something I really care about.
It suddenly reminded me of a quote from an earlier interview: stablecoins will become the foundation of the AI economy. WLFI's USD1 now does more than just being more user-friendly; it’s better suited for AI systems to truly utilize. What AI needs is this kind of stable, computable, readily usable money.
Of course, many people are chasing the pool for that 15-20% APR—it's quite tempting. But relying solely on returns won't last long. I'm more concerned about whether these funds will be willing to stay after earning.
Ultimately, this isn't just an ordinary marketing stunt; it's USD1 starting to truly serve as the project's first capital. If this step works out, who can get funding, how they are priced, and even who survives might all change.
What do you think? If more projects start using stablecoins for their initial funding rounds, will the market become more rational or harder to hype? Let’s chat~ Hehe
