The X platform launches Cashtags feature, integrating real-time US stock market and cryptocurrency market data
Recently, Elon Musk's social platform X launched a new feature called "Cashtags," allowing users to view real-time price charts of stocks and cryptocurrencies directly within the app.
Currently, this feature is only available to iPhone users in the United States and Canada.
X product leader Nikita Bier announced this major update, noting that for a long time, X has been an important channel for traders and investors to access financial news and information.
The newly launched Cashtags feature on the platform is similar to traditional tags but specifically designed for the financial sector.
When users input stock symbols with a dollar sign or cryptocurrency tokens (e.g., $BTC), the system automatically converts them into clickable links;
By clicking on these links, users can directly see the price charts and discussion posts related to the asset.
This feature greatly facilitates traders, eliminating the need to frequently switch between X and other chart tools.
According to Bier, when users search for or post a specific asset or contract address with a cashtag, X will automatically recommend related stocks or cryptocurrencies for selection.
Clicking on the cashtag allows users to view relevant posts and price charts without leaving the X app.
In this way, users can match platform discussions with the corresponding tokens or stocks, and traders do not need to switch between X and separate chart tools to verify information.
It is reported that the launch of the Cashtags feature is not a new concept.
Back in late 2022, X conducted a brief trial using data from TradingView and eToro.
Earlier this year, Bier discussed how to promote widespread adoption of cryptocurrencies on X while preventing spam, and once again mentioned Cashtags.
This topic instantly sparked market anticipation.
The community responded positively, with some users praising the feature as "well-designed" and convenient for tracking market sentiment of cryptocurrencies and stocks.
Some even proposed expanding Cashtags into fields like sports, news, and real-time events.
It is worth noting that as this feature was launched, the cryptocurrency market is showing signs of recovery.
Bitcoin broke through $75,000 yesterday, reaching a nearly one-month high, and Ethereum also touched $2,400.
