ME News Report, April 12 (UTC+8), The talks held in Islamabad are the first direct meeting between the U.S. and Iran in over a decade, and the highest-level consultation between the two countries since the Iranian Islamic Revolution in 1979. The Iranian delegation arrived in Islamabad in the early hours of the 11th, all dressed in black to mourn the Supreme Leader Khamenei and other victims of the war. The Iranian government stated that the delegation also brought some shoes and backpacks of students who were tragically killed when U.S. military bombed a school near a military facility. Another Pakistani source mentioned during the first round of talks: “Both sides’ emotions fluctuated; the atmosphere was sometimes tense and sometimes relaxed.” (Source: ODAILY)
