Insiders: OpenAI forms a commercial closed loop in collaboration with Oracle and NVIDIA.
According to Golden Finance reports, CCTC reported that NVIDIA plans to invest $100 billion in OpenAI, and the two parties will jointly build a data center with a scale of at least 10 gigawatts. According to informed sources, NVIDIA will invest in OpenAI through an acquisition of non-voting shares, and OpenAI can use this funding to purchase NVIDIA chips. Andrew Kitzen, director of the technology sector at BMI, a subsidiary of Fitch Solutions, stated that Nvidia's $100 billion is not just an investment but also a leverage, making Nvidia both a hardware supplier for OpenAI and one of its future financing sources. OpenAI has struggled to transform into a fully profitable entity, and its collaboration with Nvidia provides assurance for its long-term financial security. Furthermore, OpenAI previously signed a cloud computing cooperation agreement with Oracle, purchasing massive computing power from Oracle, which, as an infrastructure provider, needs to procure a large number of graphics processing units (GPUs) from Nvidia to build data centers. Analysis suggests that the three companies will form a new cooperation model: OpenAI purchases cloud services from Oracle, Oracle buys graphics processors (GPUs) from NVIDIA, and NVIDIA continues to invest in OpenAI. Experts from several technology consulting firms pointed out that although this cooperation creates a closed loop of “chip-infrastructure-model” in the AI supply chain, it will not change the overall trend of diversification in the computing power market.
