The futures contract provided by Gate.io currently supports only contracts with USDT and BTC settlements.
Similar to the perpetual contract, the PNL can be realized by operating bullish and bearish according to the market quotation. But there's a settlement date for the futures contract that can not be long-held.
Futures contract supports the following types of contract details:
The PNL for a futures contract is calculated using the formula as a perpetual contract. PNL = Position Size * Contract Multiplier * ( Closing Price - Opening Price ) *Contract multiplier can be checked in the contract details.
The PNL for a futures contract is calculated using the formula as an inverse perpetual contract. PNL = Position Size * ( 1/Opening Price - 1/Closing Price )
Note: 1) If a contract is liquidated before the settlement date, then the liquidation price is based on the traded price. 2) If a contract is settled by the system on the settlement day, the liquidation is the settlement price. 3) The calculations mentioned above are not included in the funding fee.
Take BTC_USDT0924·Seasonal as an example, according to the contract details, the contract multiplier is 0.0001BTC, the average opening price is 36416.75USDT, and assuming that the settlement price or the liquidation price is 37316.23USDT.
So the PNL for the user's contract trading is: -1000 * 0.0001 * ( 37316.23 - 36416.75 ) = -89.948USDT That the user loses 89.948USDT.
