This sentence deeply moved me: "Stay sober in a bull market, stay calm in a bear market." It almost encapsulates my entire trading journey.
I still remember myself when I first entered the scene, at the tail end of the last bull market. The screen was filled with skyrocketing candlesticks, and the chat groups were full of cheers of "tenfold," "hundredfold." I was swept up in a huge wave of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), chasing gains and selling on dips, as if missing out by even a moment would mean losing the chance to change my fate. As you can imagine, when the market turned downward, I not only gave back all my profits but also suffered a heavy blow to my principal. That was my first real experience of the market’s harshness.
The subsequent bear market was long and painful. Watching my assets shrink, I was filled with self-doubt. But it was during this “cooling-off period” that I was forced to stop and learn. I began systematically reading whitepapers, understanding the fundamentals of projects, rather than blindly trusting news. I learned about position management and stopped going all-in with my bullets. More importantly, I started developing and strictly following my trading strategy—setting clear take-profit and stop-loss points, and when those triggers were hit, executing them decisively without falling in love with the market.
This process was also a journey of growth alongside Gate. From initially viewing Gate merely as a trading tool, to later participating in discussions and activities in the Plaza, I felt the vibrant “Gate Family.” I’ve seen beginners ask naive questions and read profound reflections from seasoned traders—these genuine shares became my valuable nourishment.
Now, as the market warms again, the ghost of FOMO reappears. But I am no longer that impulsive beginner. I celebrate when I seize opportunities, but I never go all-in; I reflect on temporary losses, but I never panic-sell. A bull market requires the patience of a hunter, not the frenzy of a gambler.
Thank you, Gate, for providing this platform to share and witness each other's growth. To all in the Gate Family: the road is long, so let’s stay sober, stay calm, and walk steadily forward.
