Telegram CEO travel ban fully lifted, arrested at Paris airport last year, causing a global sensation.
On November 13th, news came that the travel restrictions for Telegram's CEO Pavel Durov have finally been completely lifted.
The investigation by the French authorities into this communication platform is still ongoing, focusing on whether Durov has turned a blind eye to illegal activities on the platform. Initially, he was stuck in France and unable to move, until he managed to obtain a limited travel permit for Dubai in June.
Back in August last year, when Durov stepped down from the private jet's stairway, law enforcement officers at the Paris airport directly took him away — this scene made headlines worldwide. What followed was four days of closed-door interrogation, after which he was charged with “conspiracy to facilitate criminal activities.”
He has always insisted on his innocence. The conditions were quite harsh at the time: pay a bail of 5 million euros (approximately 5.8 million dollars), not allowed to step out of France, and had to report to the authorities twice a week. Now these restrictions have finally come to an end.
