Since its founding in 2018, Dusk has been focusing on a special track — customizing Layer 1 blockchains for regulated financial scenarios. Currently, traditional finance and on-chain technology are accelerating their collision, but institutions are always stuck on the same question: how to balance privacy and compliance?
Dusk's answer is to embed these two needs directly into the underlying protocol. It adopts a modular architecture, making privacy, auditability, and regulatory friendliness core features rather than patches after the fact. This provides a reliable infrastructure for institutional applications, compliant DeFi, and RWA tokenization.
To put it simply, Dusk does not compete with other Layer 1s on throughput. Its focus is on "how to conduct private transactions in regulated scenarios." Using cryptographic black technologies like zero-knowledge proofs and homomorphic encryption, transaction content is fully privacy-protected, yet the audit logs that regulators need to see are still available. This is "privacy but not concealment" — allowing institutions to enjoy blockchain's transparency and efficiency without crossing compliance red lines.
By 2026, Dusk will reach a key milestone. The first step is the official launch of DuskTrade, the ecosystem's first real RWA application. The partner is the licensed Dutch exchange NPEX, which has obtained qualifications such as MTF( multi-trading facility) and Broker( brokerage).
