Central banks will eventually face up to the limitations inherent in traditional assets like gold and Bitcoin. When that reality sets in, they'll need to explore a completely different cryptographic framework—one they can manage on their balance sheet, maintain full fungibility with, and actively trade. The hunt for controllable digital currencies that meet these criteria will likely shape monetary policy and financial markets for years to come.
